Frames and Hangers can be ordered only with posters (Sep 1st, 2021)

As of September 1st, 2021, frames and hangers are no longer listed as separate categories in the product catalog. They are merged together with posters and available to order as Framed-poster or Poster-with-hanger. As a platform for selling customized products, we strongly believe you get full value when offering framed posters and posters with hangers.

If you have previously added frames and hangers as stand-alone products to your ecommerce store, this means that your customers will soon no longer be able to purchase them on your store. You will also not be able to add new types/variants to your offer or place a manual order. You can easily make changes to your store to ensure your customers can order the framed-posters and poster-with-hangers.


How can you add posters with frames or hangers?

There are a couple of ways to connect frames to posters in your store depending on the platform you use to process orders: 

  • Shopify - If you are selling on Shopify, you can use our product expansion feature to connect frames or hangers to your posters so that your customers can choose whether to buy a poster only or framed poster. More info can be found here.
  • Etsy - If you are selling on Etsy, you can create a new variation of your existing product manually in Etsy and then connect it to Gelato as described here.
  • Manual Orders - If you place manual orders via our Gelato Dashboard, you won’t be able to order frames only, but will need to select “Framed posters” or “Posters with hangers”.

We understand that this may create additional work for you, but our experience tells us that your customers will reward the effort as it will make it easier for them to order framed posters as a combined product in your store.
